“I Liked it. It was fun and stupid – and it passed the time and it’s not Tolstoy but it’s also not television and it made me happy” – Zibby from Liberal Art (2012)
I Love Elizabeth Olsen, it’s incredible God creation. an artist who can make me watch 2012 Movie, Liberal Arts for the second times. The movie was about Jesse a middle age guy who experiencing a crisis in his life and Zibby a 19 years old vulnerable girl who recently become drama student. I like the Zibby character, she is hot, intelligent, and very truthful about herself. If this character was real, I Probably should end up my life with her, you know? a girl who not only love great Literature and Classic music but also has minor taste to Twilight series.
By the way. The line that I quoted in the movie left one big question, “Should we as college student develop a good taste for reading book, watch a movie and enjoying art like painting?”. I don’t really know the answer but I do know that when we reach a certain age, we actively discriminate against things that may be popular among the younger to proclaim that we’ve grown up. I’ve seen Twilight movies and also read the book when I was in high school, and I don’t wanna lie to you because I Like the book, I don’t know what good taste to be like and I don’t care what people say about the movie I watched. Actually, me from the past had watched many underrated movie and read many underrated book.
But, it was changed when I entered the college life, I have begin developing my taste about what book I should read or movie I should see and also I really really care what other people comment about book or movie, it’s feels like I don’t wanna wasting my time for worst book or worst movie and also I just wanna make sure My time gone just for good entertaining. I don’t know it’s good or not to discriminate book or movie based on other people review but I feel like it would like be the best for me because now I have many class to attempt, many schedule, and many exam to do. So, with this diet I can ensure a book that I read will help me to build better perspective for support my college life.
Basically, New York Times Catalog must be relevant to me right now, I often search 10 best book a years catalog from NYTimes and start read that 10 book one by one. And I also come to goodread to see a list book should everyone read at least once and I also has list from telegraph. It make me happy to keep that list? probably yes but instead just read a book from that list, sometimes I read a book probably everyone has no idea about.
And this must be noted, I don’t say read underrated book is wrong because my diet on that kind of book. If you think whatever you read will bring impact for your life at least make you happy, so go on read that book. Although it’s not tolstoy or dickens or mark twin and that book was stupid but fun, it’s better than television.
